Indonesia will build their own MPAs


BANDUNG, KOMPAS.com - PT Dirgantara Indonesia (DI) hoping to get an advance for the procurement of three aircraft CN235-220 in three months. The total value of contract aircraft orders the Department of Defense (DoD) was for 80 million U.S. dollars.

PT DI president director, Budi Santoso in Bandung, Monday (14/12/2009), say, expected advances for 15 to 20 percent of the value of contract last week with Director General of Defense Facilities (Ranahan) Department of Defense, Air Vice Marshall Eris Herryanto.
Down payment is required because PT DI also had to order the aircraft components that need funding. Meanwhile, parts of aircraft such as radar or engine must be made first. Making machines for example, took about 18 months.

"I hope the prime delivery CN235-220 aircraft can we meet in 24 months since the contract was signed," said Budi.
Aircraft making funds came from export credits. Government borrowing from foreign banks to be distributed to PT DI.
